This drawing of a model shows her facial expression, using
both lighting and shadows, it effectively shows that the model has a very
sarcastic smile that seems to be fake/forced and not natural. This drawing has captured
the appearance of the model perfectly and looks very similar, the facial
features such as the nose, eyes and mouth are planned very well on the page and
are drawn in proportion to the rest of the face.
The contours of the shading show the anatomy of the head and
how the model’s cheek muscles are being used to make the mouth smile, it also
shows the areas where the skin bends and curves around muscles making it very
realistic. The highlights and shading show that the light source was from above
to the right this works well with this facial expression and adds a more
intense effect on the viewer.
